Dr. Jesse Sugrue Koob is a native of western Massachusetts, having been born and raised in Belchertown. Growing up, she always had a strong affinity for horses, and was an active member of the Swift River Pony Club. Dr. Sugrue graduated from Mount Holyoke College in 2010, where she received her Bachelors of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. She split her non-academic time between the equestrian center and playing in the soccer fields. After completing her undergraduate degree, Dr. Sugrue Koob moved down to Virginia to work for the Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. While at the teaching hospital, she worked in both the ophthalmology department and in the small animal intensive care unit. In 2015, she graduated with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. She is an active member in the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Association of Equine Practitioners and ISELP (equine lameness practitioners). She practices both small and large animal medicine and has special interests in equine podiatry and acupuncture. In her spare time, Dr. Sugrue Koob can be found enjoying one of her many outdoor interests including riding her horses and running with her pups. In addition to her many pets, she shares her beautiful home with her husband Kyle and their wonderful children Oden and Evelyn.
