Dr. Claire Schmidt grew up in Northern Virginia where she started riding horses from a very young age. She made it a habit to go to the barn at every possible opportunity. In college, she started playing polo and hasn't looked back since.
In 2018, Dr. Schmidt graduated from Michigan State University with two Bachelor's Degrees in Animal Science and Microbiology.
Dr. Schmidt loves New England so much that she made the decision to continue her education and attend Tufts Veterinary School. While in school, she worked at the large animal hospital where her passion for herd and population health really grew.
Dr. Schmidt graduated from Tufts in 2022 with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine and a Master's in Public Health. In her free time she enjoys playing polo, spending time with her two cats Rowena and Robin, and discovering new places to go kayaking.
With a dual degree in Veterinary Medicine and Public Health, Dr. Schmidt brings a unique perspective on animal health and its connection to community wellbeing.
