Clifford B Morcom DVM - Mixed Animal Veterinarian
Dr. Clifford Morcom grew up in Shrewsbury, New Jersey. As a high school student he worked at Mammoth Park and Atlantic City as a hot walker. Here Dr. Morcom found his profound appreciation for the racehorses. He graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a bachelors of science majoring in Animal Husbandry. He received a Masters from Michigan State University in Reproductive Endocrinology and graduated from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1979. After graduation he worked as a track veterinarian at Monticello raceway in New York. In 1984 he moved to Massachusetts and worked along side Fred Hess in Amherst. In 1986, he purchased the land and house that would (with many revisions) become the Mill Valley Veterinary Clinic. During the intervening years he purchased his first Standardbred broodmare, help raise three children and continued to serve the Pioneer Valley as a mixed animal veterinarian. Over the years the clinic has grown from a one doctor mixed animal practice into a four-doctor practice that constantly strives to bring the newest technology and innovations to our clients. Dr. Morcom lives in Belchertown with his wife Celeste and two golden retrievers, one Jack Russell mix, a reclusive cat and a few “retired” standardbred horses.

Chelsey Mullen - Mixed Animal Veterinarian

Dr. Chelsey Mullen grew up in central Massachusetts where she proudly raised and trained her own dog. She also grew up riding horses and competed in high school Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) shows. Dr. Mullen earned a Bachelors of Science in animal science with a minor in biochemistry from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2016. While at UMass, she was active in managing the UMass Belted Galloway beef herd in addition to working at the UMass equine facility. Dr. Mullen then went to veterinary school at Tu/s Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in Gra/on, Massachusetts. While in veterinary school she was the Vice President of the student chapter of the American Association of Equine Practitioners, and she worked as a student technician in both the large animal hospital and the small animal emergency room. Dr. Mullen also enjoyed working at the school’s teaching farm with their Holstein heifers, beef herd, sheep 5ocks, swine farm, and chicken 5ock. She received a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2020 and is a member in good standing of the AVMA. Dr. Mullen enjoys working with both large and small animals with a variety of interests including surgery, reproduction, and medicine. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Mullen enjoys spending me with her dogs and cats, hiking new trails, and enjoying me outside in her yard.
