Clifford B Morcom DVM - practice owner

Dr. Clifford Morcom grew up in Shrewsbury New Jersey. As a high school student he worked at Mammoth Park and Atlantic City as a hot walker. Here Dr. Morcom found his profound appreciation for the racehorses. He graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a bachelors of science majoring in Animal Husbandry. He received a Masters from Michigan State University in Reproductive Endocrinology and graduated from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1979. After graduation he worked as a track veterinarian at Monticello raceway in New York. In 1984 he moved to Massachusetts and worked along side Fred Hess in Amherst. In 1986, he purchased the land and house that would (with many revisions) become the Mill Valley Veterinary Clinic. During the intervening years he purchased his first Standardbred broodmare, help raise three children and continued to serve the Pioneer Valley as a mixed animal veterinarian. Over the years the clinic has grown from a one doctor mixed animal practice into a four-doctor practice that constantly strives to bring the newest technology and innovations to our clients. Dr. Morcom lives in Belchertown with his wife Celeste and two golden retrievers, one Jack Russell mix, numerous cats and a few “retired” standardbred horses.
